The Veracruz Aquarium, located on Manuel Ávila Camacho Boulevard in the port of Veracruz, is a unique recreational space for families and one of the most complete and modern aquariums in Latin America. It was under the administration of Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez that a policy was put into operation that offers free access to the facilities of this venue, on the second Tuesday of each month, in which the Aquarium has received thousands of people who come with their families to enjoy a memorable experience.
This implementation at the site aims to promote education, tourism, marine research and ecological awareness.
Since its reopening on November 17, 2024, the place became one of the favorite destinations for both local residents and tourists. This was due to the installation of one of the shark heads, which had belonged to the Luis “Pirata” Fuente stadium, at the entrance of the place, as well as the 130-square-meter LED screen that projects 3D images of endemic species.
In addition, an area dedicated to new species was enabled and a complete restoration of the dolphinarium was carried out.
In the first week of January, the Government of the State of Veracruz announced that the date that will mark the first free visit of the year will be next Tuesday, January 14, with which the “Free Tuesdays” program will be reactivated on the second Tuesday of each month, seeking to bring the population closer to the richness of marine ecosystems, allowing children and adults to explore the attractions at no cost.
