Canadian Kitesurfer Dies in El Sargento, Baja California Sur

A 75-year-old Canadian man tragically lost his life while kitesurfing on the beach of El Sargento, Baja California Sur, on the afternoon of January 14, near the Casa Tara hotel.

A witness, a man of Cuban origin, reported that the victim became entangled in the ropes of his parachute while kitesurfing. Despite the witness’s efforts to provide first aid, he was unable to revive the man and eventually pulled his body to the shore.

Municipal Police officers and paramedics from the Los Planes delegation responded to the incident, but unfortunately, they were unable to save the man’s life. Authorities confirmed that the death occurred at the scene.

Kitesurfing is a popular sport in El Sargento due to its favorable weather and sea conditions. The incident has caused a stir in the local community, which is known for attracting water sports enthusiasts. Authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the details of this tragedy.
