In a peculiar turn of events, two men, known by their nicknames La Morsa and El Pinocho, were apprehended by the Public Security Secretariat of Yucatan in the fishing town of Celestún. The arrest was notable for the unconventional method employed by one of the officers: a slingshot.

The incident unfolded when state and municipal police responded to a robbery report in the central streets of Celestún. The suspects, who had allegedly robbed a business, attempted to flee. La Morsa sought refuge on the roof of a house and began hurling stones at the police in an effort to evade capture.

A video circulating on social media shows a State Police officer using a slingshot, firing at least four shots at the suspect on the roof. The person recording the video humorously remarked, “The SSP agents have a powerful weapon, an AK-47, gentlemen.”

Ultimately, the police succeeded in arresting La Morsa and El Pinocho. The officer with the slingshot managed to distract the aggressor, facilitating the capture of both suspects. The unusual nature of the incident sparked laughter among Celestún residents, who quickly commented on the improvised weapon.

Both detainees were transported to the municipal jail, where they face the appropriate charges.
