Amidst a ritual of drums, the sound of shells and incense, the inauguration ceremony of the Holistic Center, “Ceremonial, Educational, Cultural and Pedagogical Center”, was held, located in the facilities of the Querétaro Lions Club, where attendees were welcomed through an energetic cleansing performed by traditional doctors and ritualists.

The event was headed by the Indigenous governor in charge of the place J. Carmen Maldonado García, who in a short interview for Círculos de Diario de Querétaro mentioned that the place is designed to heal the body and soul with ancestral traditions and natural medicine.

“You will find consultations with traditional doctors, temazcal and workshops to learn more about herbal medicine, we want children to know our ancient culture, so we will be bringing children from primary school to university students,” said the indigenous governor.

The event was attended by Rubén Galicia representing Ana Paola López Birlain, Secretary of Culture in the State; Maria Guadalupe Espinosa de los Reyes, Secretary of the Environment, who attended on behalf of Felipe Fernando Macias Olvera, Mayor of Queretaro; Fabia Ramos, on behalf of Daniela Salgado, Secretary of Culture in the municipality; Martha Suarez Araiza, representative of the Secretariat of Indigenous Women, on behalf of the Lions Club Francisco Barrera Rios, president; Leonel Aguirre, treasurer and Octavio Duran, secretary.

After the formal ceremony, authorities and guests toured the place and were able to learn about the project which Francisco Barrera, president of the Lions Club, referred to as a great achievement so that more Queretaro residents could get closer to the ancestral origins of all Mexicans and assured that they feel satisfied with the work and support of both the state and municipal government, because for the civil association it is important since they are governed by links that must be supported and based on regulations for being an international association.

The place will be open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day of the week, offering ancestral medical consultations, temazcal, cleansing, sale of herbal medicine, performance of ceremonies for weddings, baptisms, birthdays, among other things.
