Just two weeks into the new year 2025, the first mega roadblock on the Mexico-Pachuca highway connecting three states has already been announced, so the effects are expected to be very serious, and we know what that closure will be like.
The organizers of the protest are drivers affiliated with the group called Rutas Hermanas and in a brief statement in which they said they were upset and tired, they said they would take their demands further, as they would also close six other roads, mainly in the east of the Valley of Mexico.
Along with the impediment to the passage of vehicles, trucks, buses and other motor vehicles, the protesters said they would carry banners and chant slogans in which they would explain their claims and first asked for understanding from drivers who may be stranded on the roads.
They then asked motorists using the roads they will block, such as the Mexico-Pachuca highway, to take the necessary precautions, since they will remain behind the fence for as long as necessary, so it is preferable to look for alternative routes and even postpone trips that must be made until after the protest.
For this reason the highway and six others will be closed
According to what the members of the Rutas Hermanas group explained in their brief text, the reason for holding a demonstration and blockades not only on the Mexico-Pachuca highway, but on six others that are strategic for connecting the country, is because of the crime they suffer repeatedly.
They claimed to be victims of acts of extortion in which they must give large amounts of money to be able to work and circulate on their routes, which criminals commonly call “floor payment,” but the situation worsened when the demand for the fee became extremely violent.
Since the alleged criminals refused to cooperate, they decided to kidnap a public transport driver, as a pressure measure to make the corresponding payments to organized crime, so there was no other option and the requested deposit had to be made.
Additionally, a ransom was paid and although the kidnapping victim was released alive, she was severely beaten by her captors, so the Rutas Hermanas drivers said they were fed up and decided to make this annoyance known to the authorities through a protest with a mega blockade on the Mexico-Pachuca highway.
This is how the blockade will be on the Mexico-Pachuca highway, take note
According to the lines above, the drivers’ protest will be on Friday, January 17th starting at 9 am, so the organizers reiterated their call to drivers to take alternate routes or postpone their trips, because they said that the Mexico-Pachuca highway will be a complete chaos.
But not only that toll road that starts in the city of Pachuca, passes through the State of Mexico and reaches Mexico City will be affected by the protest, because to create pressure on the corresponding authorities and to meet the demands, six other roads will be closed to collapse the capital of the country.
