Despite the low tourist influx in recent months, the hotel sector is confident that the port’s biggest party will boost the arrival of tourists

The hotel sector expects reservation expectations of between 80 and 90 percent for the Mazatlán International Carnival 2025 “La Perla”, which will be held from February 27 to March 4.

The low tourist influx seen in recent months in Mazatlán has caused concern in different commercial areas of the port, however, for hoteliers, the Carnival could see an improvement in the arrival of tourists to the destination.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, highlighted that this sector has a positive outlook on the reservations that will be made for those dates.

“The reservations are there, they continue to move forward, trusting that we will have a good Carnival with an expectation of 80 or 90 percent in the square. It is an expectation, not an affirmation,” he said.

The hotel manager stressed that the security operation that will be implemented by the State Government will be an important factor in generating the conditions and guarantees around the event.

He also pointed out that the Carnival will be the event that could bring back the confidence so that national tourism once again takes Mazatlán as a vacation destination.

“Having a massive event that happens with the greatest normality, is the best way to convey the issue that confidence will be expanded and people can resume the normal inertia that came to Mazatlán,” he said.

Manguart Sánchez added that since the Mazatlán Carnival is one of the biggest parties held in the port, the people of Mazatlán themselves, together with the visitors, could be the ones to show that there are adequate security conditions.

“It is our biggest party. It is something that Mazatlan residents are very proud of and what better time for Mazatlan residents to go out to their city and enjoy it while having visitors. I think it is the best way to convey that there are safe conditions and that must be seen from a positive point of view,” he said.
