The time has come for the Mexico 15 highway to be rehabilitated, and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) has already started the tender to address several points of the federal road in its passage through Sinaloa and which are in a terrible state, reported the Secretary of Public Works in Sinaloa, Raúl Francisco Montero Zamudio.
This federal investment is part of the work plan announced by the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, which includes 18 kilometers of resurfacing and 14 more kilometers of sealing irrigation, the state official explained.
Therefore, work is scheduled for the month of March on the critical sections of Guasave, in the municipality of Ahome and the limits with the state of Sonora, as well as the southern area of the entity, corresponding to “La Costerita” and the Culiacán-Mazatlán highway.
“That is a tender from SICT, they published it yesterday, if I remember correctly, it is 18 kilometers of resurfacing and 14 kilometers of sealing irrigation on both roads from Las Brisas, Guasave to Mochis, as well as on the borders of Los Mochis with Sonora; in the south, in what is ‘La Costerita’ and the Culiacán-Mazatlán,” he explained.

The federal official reported that the requests to the state agency regarding the poor conditions and deterioration of the federal highway were finally taken into account, and that although the state together with the municipalities had been working to minimize the danger for users, a complete job was urgently needed, especially in areas with greater damage, such as the points that SICT considered for this important investment.
It is not yet known which section will be started, but it is expected that it will be done simultaneously and the works will be carried out in a short period of time and ready for the next holiday periods.
