Following the confrontation between elements of the Regional Interinstitutional Force (FIR) and armed individuals in the municipality of Teocaltiche, in the Altos Norte region of Jalisco; three vehicles, 13 homemade explosive devices, firearm magazines and fuel were seized.
Around 11:00 p.m. yesterday, the alleged perpetrators ambushed the agents of this Force, made up of members of the National Guard, the Secretariat of National Defense and the State Police, on the old Tenayuca – Teocaltiche Road. After repelling the aggression, an officer was injured by a splinter from a firearm projectile, although she has already been treated by medical services and released.
In total, a van type vehicle with superimposed State of Mexico license plates, another pickup type vehicle with a theft report and a pick-up truck were seized. Also 13 homemade explosive devices, eight drone batteries, a charger and cable to charge this equipment, a canister with fuel, 59 useful 5.56 millimeter caliber cartridges, two plastic chargers with the legend “esad arms” caliber 5.56 and two boxes with tire punctures.
The alleged aggressors, for their part, escaped through a path towards Zacatecas. Meanwhile, it is presumed that the ambush is due to the surveillance and patrol operations that the FIR has carried out in the Altos Norte region of the state.
