In his keynote address, Ismael Carvallo Robledo highlighted the importance of Zacatecas during the viceroyalty period due to its mining power, with the discovery of silver, which turned the state into a global geopolitical player.
From the State Congress, within the framework of the second day of activities of the Colloquium “200 years of a free federated state” the guest speaker addressed the topic “From the viceroyalty to the political nation between mines and seas. Historical and geopolitical significance of Zacatecas in the dialect of the Mexican Republic”.

For the 200 years of the promulgation of the State Constitution
When addressing the framework of identifying 1825, when the constitution of Zacatecas was drafted as a fundamental point for Mexico, he explained the previous viceroyal phase of organization of the country, and the national phase.
In front of students, historians, deputies and chroniclers, he pointed out that this period was fundamental to the commercial process known as the first globalization that connected Acapulco, Mexico City, Veracruz and Seville, “now that it is said that globalization is a process led by the United States and other countries, we understand that we made the first globalization with the silver of Zacatecas.”
By encouraging the attendees to reflect, he also motivated them to continue researching the subject, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the promulgation of the constitution of 1825.
The program was later continued with the table of historians under the participation of José Eduardo Jacobo Bernal, Xochitl del Carmen Marentes, Jesús Domínguez and Oliverio Sarmiento.
It should be noted that the Colloquium, coordinated by the Government Secretariat through the State Chronicle and the State Legislature, continues tomorrow, Wednesday 22, at the Government Palace starting at 11:00 in the morning.
