Arturo ‘N’, identified as the leader of a criminal gang in Cancun, was arrested in Mexico City following a coordinated operation involving the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo, the Navy (Semar), the National Anti-Kidnapping Coordination (Conase), and the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJ of Mexico City).
Between December 2024 and January 2025, Arturo ‘N’ traveled between the United States, Panama, the Bahamas, and Mexico to evade justice. According to the Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office, he was a priority target in the state’s Criminal Atlas and was arrested after a control judge issued an order.
Following his arrest, Arturo ‘N’ was transferred to the municipality of Benito Juárez and placed at the local Social Reintegration Center. Investigations revealed that he arrived in Mexico on January 20, 2025, on a flight from Panama. His movement history shows that he arrived in Quintana Roo from the United States on December 22, 2024, then traveled to Querétaro and took a flight to Panama. In January, he moved to the Bahamas before returning to Mexico, where he was captured.
Arturo ‘N’ is linked to several cases of kidnapping and robbery involving three victims with reserved identities in Benito Juárez. His criminal group previously suffered a setback in October 2024 with the capture of José Adolfo ‘N’, who was linked to proceedings for kidnapping and express kidnapping. José Adolfo ‘N’ remains in preventive detention while facing trial.
