With the aim of promoting tourism development and promoting the Mexican Pacific coasts, the State Tourism Secretariat (Sectur Oaxaca) joined the Mexican Pacific Alliance.
Within the framework of the International Tourism Fair 2025 (Fitur) in Madrid, Spain, the head of Sectur Oaxaca, Saymi Pineda Velasco, signed the document that made official the participation of the agency in this union made up of the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chiapas, Colima, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Sonora.
According to the state government, on January 10, the members of this alliance met in Jalisco to begin the strategies that will promote the tourism sector in the coastal areas of the participating states.
Pineda Velasco stressed that making this union official, headed by the Secretary of Tourism of Guerrero, Simón Quiñones Orozco, strengthens Oaxaca’s ties with strategic allies and allows the formulation of agreements to promote key areas, such as the promotion of destinations and the development of infrastructure, in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable growth.
He added that this initiative seeks to maximize the economic and social benefits of tourism, ensuring that communities are protagonists and direct beneficiaries of this growth, to continue generating well-being.
