The Attorney General’s Office has arrested four alleged members of a criminal group in Tulum, linked to the murder of a man whose dismembered body was found in bags, as well as drug dealing activities.

The State Attorney General’s Office, through the Investigative Police, captured Eduardo “N,” also known as “Chaparro” or “Commander,” in connection with the murder. The victim’s dismembered body was discovered in bags on January 20 near the municipality.

Initial investigations reveal that Eduardo “N” and other suspects used a van to travel to the Aldea Tulum subdivision, where they kidnapped the victim. They then took him to an invasion zone, where he was murdered, dismembered, and his body abandoned in bags.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security also detained Edwards Antonio “N,” José Emmanuel “N,” and Marco Antonio “N” for alleged drug dealing crimes. Investigations suggest that José Emmanuel “N” may have assisted in transporting the body to the location where it was abandoned.

The detainees are identified as members of a criminal group responsible for generating violence in the state, primarily focused on narcotics sales. All suspects have been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, which will determine their legal status within the appropriate legal timeframe.
