Mateo and Lissana, a couple made up of an Argentinean man and an Estonian woman, have conquered social media by sharing their experience living in Mexico.

On their channel, they document their daily life in Mexico City, where they decided to settle, highlighting human warmth and the climate as key factors for their decision.

In her video titled “Beware of these offers in Mexico,” Lissana expressed, through tears, her gratitude and joy for life in this country. Originally from Estonia, a place known for its long, cold winters, the content creator explained how the sunny weather and green landscapes of Mexico City have transformed her mood.

“For now we are very happy, the truth is, every day is better. The sky is blue, thank God, the green of the trees, you don’t know what it means to me, who comes from a cold country, and the sun is joy, the sun is motivation,” she said excitedly. She added that, although she loves her home country, the long periods of sunless weather in Estonia affected her mood and made her day-to-day life difficult.
Lissana went on to share how the change in climate has positively influenced her outlook on life.

“In countries like Mexico, people are happier, they make the most of what they have, they make the most of their days, and it changes. There is more gratitude, and for me the sun is everything and I love it. Sorry, I am very excited because in Mexico City I wake up in a good mood. I love Estonia, but the climate was very difficult for me. Life is different in Mexico, here you feel more warmth and human love,” she said.

The video quickly went viral, accumulating thousands of views and positive comments. Mexican users were quick to welcome them with warm messages.

“Aww, Lissana and Mateo, welcome to Mexico. We love having beautiful people like you,” wrote one user. Others highlighted her reflection on the climate and mood, stating: “There are people in Mexico who think they are ‘team cold.’ They have no idea what cold is, you do, and so it is clear that the sun is better than the cold. Team heat 1, team cold 0!”

Although Mateo and Lissana also warn about some experiences they have encountered in Mexico, their testimony highlights the gratitude they feel for the country they now call home. Lissana’s emotional connection with the climate and the warmth of the Mexican people has sparked empathy in those who have seen the video.

With each post, the couple continues to build a cultural bridge between their home countries and Mexico, showing how life in a new place can bring unexpected learning and emotions.
