Rocío Nahle, governor of Veracruz, returned this Friday after attending the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Spain, where she went to represent Veracruz. Her attendance was announced from December 1, 2024, the day she took office as the first female governor of Veracruz and where she expressed her commitment to the cultural and tourist promotion of the state.

The governor defined her trip to the city of Madrid, in Spain, as quick and profitable. Companies such as Cona Sur and Viva Aerobus participated in FITUR, as well as other international airlines.

There, she mentioned, she took the opportunity to propose a direct flight from the Veracruz International Airport to the city of Madrid, since it is currently not available.

“We raised it with companies in the tourism sector. It is very important, it is part of my job to promote the state, to turn it around,” said the governor.

On this trip, which took place on January 22 and 23, she was accompanied by less than 30 people, including flyers from Papantla, witches from Catemaco, jaraneros and administrative staff from the state government.

In addition, she also brought 100 percent Veracruz coffee, which was tasted by attendees at the International Tourism Fair on the European continent.

Upcoming tourist and cultural events

According to the agenda that the state governor shared on December 1, 2024, the next tourist event will be in the month of February.

In the month of love and friendship, the governor committed to an event and to begin promoting “the happiest carnival in the world: that of Veracruz.”

The La Candelaria festival in Tlacotalpan, as well as its promotion, will be the objectives of the state government in the second month of 2025.
