The Council of Business Organizations (COE) in Puebla, commented that in the construction, restaurant and hotel sectors, the required jobs can be generated for the deported compatriots.

César Bonilla Yunes, president of the organization with 1,000 members, commented that they are seeking a meeting with the state government to help define the contingency plan for the mass deportations undertaken by the president of the United States, Donald Trump.

CCE will define a job bank to assign employment for migrants

He indicated that authorities from the three levels of government and businessmen have to be on the same page to offer jobs in accordance with what the people of Puebla learned during their period as migrants.

He mentioned that in the three sectors mentioned there are permanent jobs, for which reason the contingency plan must be directed to opening vacancies.

He said that businessmen are concerned that people from Puebla will return and not find jobs that match their skills, which they have improved during their stay in the United States.

He indicated that the COE does not have an estimate of how many jobs they can generate in the construction, restaurant and hotel sectors, since they have partners.

Improving salaries

In addition, he acknowledged that better salaries should be offered to countrymen who acquired and improved their skills, because otherwise they will not last.

Bonilla Yunes indicated that businessmen in general are aware that some people from Puebla will seek to start businesses in the state after their migrant stay.

In this sense, he mentioned that the governments of the three levels should open financing programs to help countrymen start their own businesses.

He added that it is not about implementing a welfare policy but about deported people from Puebla being able to have a business and also contribute to the local economy.

Karoline Leavitt, secretaria de prensa del gobierno estadounidense, compartió en redes sociales imágenes de las primeras deportaciones de migrantes tras el inicio del gobierno de Donald Trump.
