Gunmen attacked a pilgrim camp in the community of Duarte in the municipality of León, Guanajuato.
In the incident, a 43-year-old man, identified as José and originally from San Miguel de Allende, died from his injuries.
The attack occurred around 6:20 p.m. this Monday at the camp located on Bulevar La Luz, corner of the road to Duarte.
According to authorities, the attack was directed at the victim and the attackers subsequently fled on a motorcycle.
In that same camp, hours earlier, four pilgrims, also from San Miguel de Allende, suffered burns caused by a flash in a gas cylinder.
