A man was murdered on Saturday afternoon in the parking area on the ground floor of Plaza Las Américas in Cancun.
The armed attack occurred around 3:00 p.m. as the man was preparing to leave the parking space after visiting a department store. Witnesses reported that subjects on a motorcycle intercepted him and shot him at least 15 times. The man died almost instantly inside his black Suzuki vehicle.
Police officers arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and processed it with the help of the State Attorney General’s Office. So far, no arrests have been reported for this armed attack.
Just last week, Inegi reported that the perception of insecurity among Cancun residents had increased to 74.1% in the last quarter of 2024.
