Esteban Moctezuma, Mexico’s ambassador to the United States, and his counterpart, the European Union’s representative in Mexico, Francisco André, today spoke out in favor of building healthy bilateral relations, amid Donald Trump’s threats to impose tariffs. “Foreign policy should not be based on threats, but on cooperation to seek mutual benefit and shared prosperity,” said André during his participation in the installation of the Mexican delegation in the Joint Parliamentary Commission in the Senate. André spoke a few days after the European Union and Mexico finalized negotiations on their trade agreement, which was created in 2000.
