At the International Tourism Fair of Spain (Fitur), Governor Mara Lezama announced new flight routes and hotel developments for Quintana Roo.
New Flight Routes
Four new Viva Aerobús flights will connect Cancún with Nashville, Connecticut, Columbus, and Memphis. Air Canada is increasing its weekly flights to Cancún from 53 to 60. Additionally, World to Fly will expand its daily flights from Madrid to Cancún to include Lisbon.
Hotel Developments
Five new hotels will be constructed in the Mexican Caribbean in 2025, adding 2,500 rooms to the existing 135,000. These include:
– A Grupo Excellence hotel in Puerto Morelos
– A Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres
– An H10 hotel
– A Riu Ventura Hotel
– A Grupo Meliá hotel in Cancún
Culinary Experience Campaign
Governor Lezama also introduced the Culinary Experience by Mexican Caribbean campaign in Spain, promoting Quintana Roo’s destinations and local products, especially those prepared by indigenous communities.

Quintana Roo received several awards at the 2024 World Travel Awards, including:
– Leading Beach Destination in Mexico
– Leading City Destination for Cities in Mexico and Central America 2024
– Leading City Tourism Office in Mexico and Central America 2023
– Leading Meetings and Conferences Destination in Mexico and Central America
