Incompetence or disinterest? The toll booth at Ventanilla on the Super Carretera a la Costa remains saturated

6

Thousands of drivers and transporters have experienced hours of discomfort and frustration due to delays caused by inefficiency at the Ventanilla toll booth, located on the new Super Highway to the Coast. This weekend, particularly during the holiday weekend, the situation has generated weariness and disgust among citizens, who have had to deal with long lines, terrible conditions in some sections and slow service that has made the experience a real headache.

ROAD CHAOS

Since last Friday and until Sunday, drivers have reported lines that reach up to two kilometers in length. Meanwhile, the heat of the state of Oaxaca hits hard. The conditions have not only affected private drivers, but also transporters. They have also expressed their dissatisfaction through social networks, pointing out that lost time is an increasingly unbearable factor.

“A lot of time wasted at the two toll booths, more than an hour and a half, and the road is in terrible condition. Sections are unfinished and have minor measurements, it needs to be a highway,” said one user on his Twitter account. Another driver, equally frustrated, commented: “We lost an hour of time due to poor planning, no toilet service, and the cost of the toll booths is very high. What a bad service.”

On social networks, the complaint is recurrent. Many more users share their discontent:

“It has no grandmother, terrible service” or “Vacations turn into a nightmare.”

The situation has been so widespread that several drivers are asking for urgent measures. In addition, they demand responses from the responsible authorities to resolve the lack of organization and optimization in the collection system.

WHY SO MUCH CHAOS?

The slowness of the toll collection at the Ventanilla toll booth is not only due to the high number of vehicles circulating on the road during this long holiday weekend, but also to the lack of a more agile and efficient system for paying tolls. With the increase in traffic from vacationers and transporters, saturation has been inevitable. However, many claim that the infrastructure is still not up to what is expected of a modern highway.

Drivers have stated that the lack of signage, poor lane distribution and inadequate attention from the toll booth employees are also factors that aggravate the situation. In some cases, users have had to wait up to 90 minutes to be able to continue on their way. This generates greater discomfort.

CALL FOR ACTION FROM AUTHORITIES

As dissatisfaction grows among users, some are asking for immediate measures to be taken to improve the efficiency of the toll collection system and the highway infrastructure.

“We also suffered,” says one of the comments, urging other drivers to share their experiences and form a common front to demand that the authorities improve the service.

The affected drivers assure that, if more testimonies are gathered and more voices are added, there could be greater pressure for the authorities to implement effective solutions.

During this holiday weekend, social networks have become a thermometer to measure popular annoyance at the delays at the Ventanilla toll booth. Meanwhile, users are still waiting for responses from those in charge of supervising the road. Who, so far, have not issued any statement about the complaints.

DID YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AT THE VENTANILLA TOLL BOOTH?

If you were also one of those affected by the long lines or the poor service, do not hesitate to share your experience. If possible, provide details on how you resolved the inconvenience or if, at least, your complaint was heard by the authorities. Together, it may be possible to get more people to join in the demand for an urgent improvement in the service of the new Coastal Superhighway.
