With a spectacular closing, the Queretaro team Villa Oro was crowned champion of the Vallarta 2025 International Charro Championship, beating Pepe Aguilar’s El Soyate team by just three points.
The competition took place at the emblematic Lienzo Charro Miguel “Prieto” Ibarría, which was packed with spectators eager to enjoy this traditional discipline.
Villa Oro reached a score of 463, leaving El Soyate in second place, which obtained 460 points, highlighting the impeccable pass of death performed by Asunción Sáenz, with a score of 33.
Third place went to the Tamaulipecos with 387 points, followed by the Hierro Santo team with 346, and finally, the Oaxacans from Cuenca del Papaloapan with 320.
The morning final was of a high level, where El Soyate stood out with 460 points, momentarily surpassing the national champions RG2, who finished with 459.
For its part, Tres Regalos added 416, and the charros from La Romana finished with 301 points.
In the escaramuzas category, the Regionals of San Juan del Río, Querétaro, obtained first place with 287 points. In second place were the representatives of Ribereña de Chapala with 285, while third place went to Rancho La Quinta de Nayarit with 282 units.
At the end of the event, the winners received cash prizes from registrations and commemorative buckles given by the Ibarría family and the organizing committee.
Individual champions in various charro events were also recognized.
The Vallarta 2025 International Championship reaffirmed its place as one of the most important charrería events in the country, bringing together tradition, high-level competition and a family atmosphere that has become one of the favorites of lovers of this national sport.
