Once again, a case of animal abuse occurred in Puebla. A man stole a Pomeranian dog and returned it dead to its owners, in a parcel box, through an application taxi. This happened in the auxiliary council of San Francisco Totimehuacán, belonging to the capital of Puebla.
What is known about the case of the dog in Puebla?
On January 30, in the San Miguel neighborhood, “Rocket,” a 6-month-old puppy, left his home because construction work was being done on a wall at the home.
A nearby video surveillance camera recorded the moment in which a man, who was driving a white double-cab pickup truck, was taking him in the vehicle. In the recording, the dog can be seen peeking through the glass of the passenger door.
The owners began to look for him and asked their neighbors for help, who provided recordings from the cameras.
After identifying the white van, Román Silva, owner of “Rocket”, saw the vehicle pass by, so he stopped the driver to get an explanation about the whereabouts of his pet.
The subject said that he had a warehouse near the San Miguel neighborhood and that one of his workers was driving when the dog was stolen. That day he assured him that he would investigate who had the dog to return it.
In an interview with Unotv.com, Román mentioned that the subject who stole his pet was the brother-in-law of the man he intercepted. Therefore, he contacted him, and the person responsible told him that his wife had taken him to a veterinary clinic, where a larger breed dog attacked and killed him.
The version was rejected by the owners, who demanded that the puppy’s body be handed over to them. After an argument, the responsible subject agreed.
“Rocket” arrives in a box
On February 2, “Rocket” arrived in a sealed cardboard box through the DiDi delivery service platform. Roman opened the package and noticed that his dog was shaved. He took him to his trusted veterinarian and, after an inspection, the cause of death was ruled out as an attack by another dog, as there were no traces of bites.
The veterinarian said that he had a hole in his neck. The hypothesis was that they tried to shave him and, since they could not control it, they injected him with too much anesthesia, causing his death. To hide the fact, they made a cut to simulate that he had been attacked.
The owners of “Rocket” went to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Puebla and handed over the body for a necropsy. They also filed the corresponding complaint against the person responsible, so that justice is done and there is no impunity, since their puppy was a beloved member of the family.
