In Homún, the Wolpoch Cenote, whose name means “poisonous snake” in the Mayan language, welcomes pets. This cenote provides a space for pets to move around and interact with nature. Speleologist Sergio Grosjean emphasized the importance of such spaces for animals, especially in urban areas where people have less land and live in apartments. However, Grosjean noted that while pets can be at the cenote, their recreational area is the surface, not the water.

Located in Chocholá, less than an hour from Mérida, the Cenote San Ignacio is one of the few cenotes where pets can swim. To access it, owners must ensure their pets wear a leash and maintain cleanliness in the area.

In the municipality of Chemax, the Cenote Pueblo Fantasma, located underground, offers another pet-friendly option for those looking to explore with their pets.
