With the aim of reactivating the tourist economy of Sinaloa, the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) presented the campaign “A Sea of ​​Stories”, which seeks to position Mazatlán as a leading destination in tourism for meetings, sports, weddings, fishing and events, among which the Mazatlán International Carnival, the Delfino Maza Surf Tournament and the Polanco Jazz Festival stand out, which seek to attract thousands of visitors.

The campaign, which will be promoted nationally and internationally, includes activations in Mexico City, Torreón, Monterrey, Saltillo, Durango, Guadalajara, and Bajío, in order to promote regional tourism, as well as a series of cultural, sporting and gastronomic events scheduled throughout this year, it was detailed.

Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, head of Sectur, reiterated the federal government’s commitment to support Sinaloa and assured that these actions are aligned with the national strategy of Shared Prosperity, “Mazatlán is much more than a tourist destination; it is a place where each visitor can immerse themselves in an ocean of unique and memorable experiences,” she said.

Sinaloa is facing an increase in violence in the city of Culiacán, which has left losses of more than 18,000 million pesos, according to the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), “we will never leave them alone” and that the government will continue to support the population, said Zamora.

Through the synergy between actors in the sector, the campaign aims for hoteliers, restaurateurs and state and municipal authorities to take ownership of the destination’s brand, “a Sea of ​​Stories shows that Mazatlán is much more than a tourist destination; “It is a place where every visitor can immerse themselves in an ocean of unique and memorable experiences,” said Mireya Sosa Osuna, Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa.

Rodríguez Zamora highlighted that, in addition to what has already been mentioned, 2025 will be a key year for Mazatlán thanks to a series of events in February, for example, the Mazatlán Fut 9-7 Cup will be held, a great children’s and youth soccer tournament that will bring together more than 1,400 teams from Mexico, the United States, Canada and Colombia.

The Agave Festival will also be held, where attendees will be able to enjoy and learn about this emblematic drink. Between February 27 and March 4, the Mazatlán International Carnival 2025 will fill the streets with color, music, dance and fireworks under the theme “La Perla”.

March will be a month full of excitement with the Delfino Maza Surf Tournament, the Week of the Truck with more than 1,200 exhibitors, and the spring equinox in Las Labradas, where thousands of tourists will seek to reconnect with nature.

April will also bring with it unmissable events such as the 20th edition of the Polanco Jazz Festival, the vibrant Week of the Motorcycle and the acclaimed José Limón Dance Festival. In May, Mazatlán will be the stage for congresses and conventions, such as Conem 2025 and InfoAgro Exhibition Mexico, which will offer business opportunities in the agricultural sector, as well as the Mexi Log Fest Surf Tournament.
