Potential Toll-Free Highways from Durango and Culiacán to Mazatlán During Carnival

There is a strong possibility that the tolls on the highways from Durango to Mazatlán and from Culiacán to Mazatlán will be waived during Carnival, according to Francisca Cázares Oliveros, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism of Mazatlán (Canaco Servitur).

Cázares Oliveros mentioned that this initiative is being pursued with the support of Senators of the Republic, following her recent visit to Mexico City. “They have just informed us that it is almost a certainty,” she stated.

She emphasized the significance of this move, as it will enhance road safety and attract more tourists to the festivities by eliminating toll fees. Current reservations are at 80 percent and could reach up to 95 or even 100 percent.

Additionally, Cázares Oliveros announced a gastronomic exhibition called “The Flavors of Mazatlán” to be held in the Senate on February 26, aimed at promoting this beach destination.

Paola Álvarez Tostado, President of Canaco Businesswomen, highlighted that Mazatlán will host the International Writers Congress in May, titled “Leaders Who Inspire.” Writers from 19 countries will participate, specializing in personal growth, entrepreneurship strategies, and coaching. This event has previously been held in Colombia and Monterrey, with Mazatlán as its third location.
