A boat with tourists capsized as it approached Playa del Amor, in the Cabo San Lucas area, events that caused astonishment among those who were on the beach and jumped into the sea to help them.
The events were recorded in videos circulating this afternoon on social networks, where it can be seen that the boat was about to arrive to drop off tourists on the beach when it capsized and several of them were trapped and had difficulty getting out; others managed to abandon the boat.
In the images, screams can be heard and it can be seen how some men ran to help the tourists who were trying to stay on the boat, when it was already completely upside down.
The state Tourism Secretariat confirmed to EL UNIVERSAL that all the tourists were rescued, and they were wearing life jackets as is mandatory when carrying out any of the recreational activities in the beach area, and they require it from the providers of tourist services.
The Mexican Navy Secretariat came to the rescue and reported that there were five tourists on the boat, three women and two men, from China and Canada, who were taken to the local naval command dock for medical examination, and are in stable condition, without any injuries, confirmed naval authorities in Cabo San Lucas.
The causes of the accident with the boat are currently being investigated. On social media, users are warning of errors in the tourists’ disembarkation maneuvers when they were close to the beach.
