Tourism in the rural areas of Mazatlán is beginning to flourish, thanks to combined efforts aimed at revitalizing local economies. During the announcement of the Chef’s Take event in El Quelite, restaurateurs expressed optimism about the positive impact on their communities.
Convened by Canirac, the event features chefs Ignacio Osuna Vidaurri and Héctor Peniche, who will prepare specially designed dishes for the occasion. Erick Mandujano Caro and Elisa Ramírez, head of the Department of Historical Tourism and Culture at Sectur, highlighted the improved influx of diners during and after the event at La Noria.
Aureliano Reátiga Aispuro, a restaurateur from La Noria, noted that demand increased by 20 percent initially and then by 30 percent following the event. Marcos Gabriel Osuna Tirado, a tourism entrepreneur and owner of El Mesón de los Laureanos, expressed confidence in the collective efforts and invited locals and tourists to visit El Quelite.
The Canirac leader emphasized that the initiative to boost the economy has the support of the Sinaloa Secretary of Tourism and the State Government’s Secretary of Economy. The program aims to leverage the culinary skills of Mazatlán chefs, combining them with the culture and traditions of the local communities to attract visitors.
Ali Zamudio, director of the Care Center, and Jesus Tirado, president of the International Motorcycle Sema, were among the special guests who participated in the meeting.
The collaborative effort is expected to yield positive results, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and culinary excellence of Mazatlán’s rural areas.
