A traffic police officer was exposed on social media while claiming that all uniformed officers are “thieves” in the municipality of Tecamachalco, in the state of Puebla.

The police officer was identified as Jesús “N”, who according to reports was also in the Municipal Transit offices while commenting that everyone steals, including him.

A video was shared on social media in which the man is seen wearing his uniform while talking to a couple of people, who confront him for claiming that everyone is the same as him.

“Excuse me for what I am going to say. We are all thieves, here whoever says they do not steal, excuse me, I include myself,” he commented.

According to local media, the police officer was exposed after taking 5 thousand pesos from a citizen, so he would have taken advantage of the occasion to claim that all police officers committed the same acts as him.

“If it falls on me, it will fall on me, I will take it alone. Don’t be confused, boss, I’m not here to take anything from anyone,” says the police officer.

For his part, the person who recorded the video begins to confront the police officer and assures that he does not include himself among the “thieves.”

“Everyone is free to do their own thing. Everyone knows what they do and what they don’t do. So if you say you know that, if we are all thieves, then you are wrong, because I am not included,” says the man.

After the video was released, the Tecamachalco City Council reported that the officer, identified as Jesus “N”, was fired for not complying with the principles of transparency and honesty that govern the administration.

The municipal president, Mateo Hernandez, reported that these measures will be taken in any case of corruption that is detected in the municipality.

“We are against any act of corruption. At the moment I became aware of the issue, he was fired, and an internal investigation file was opened,” he commented in an interview for the media.

These events occurred after a citizen accused municipal police officers of allegedly stealing his cell phone during a routine inspection of his truck in the same municipality.

According to the victim, after finishing the inspection he got into his vehicle and noticed that his phone had disappeared, so he decided to follow the police officers to claim his cell phone.

Upon reaching them, the young man asked for his cell phone back, but the officers refused. After a couple of minutes of insisting, the municipal police officers finally gave him his phone.

The Tecamachalco City Council reported that the Honor and Justice Commission agreed to begin an investigation into the events to apply the corresponding sanctions to whoever is responsible.
