Elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena), located and dismantled a center of criminal operations in the municipality of Mazamitla, Jalisco, sources from the state delegation of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic confirmed on Tuesday.

The military operation was implemented after the collection of intelligence data that warned of the incursion of armed and suspicious people to a property located within the road that connects the community of El Colorado with Corral Falso.
There, a complex used by organized crime as a meeting and surveillance point of the region was located, an area used for the transfer of drugs and other criminal activities.
Thanks to the geographical position, the occupants realized the arrival of the uniformed officers and fled the place, however, they left behind weapons, ammunition, tactical equipment and drugs.

Authorities seized a rifle, 1,800 cartridges, 21 magazines, three ballistic vests, two ballistic helmets, a package with 17 grams of marijuana, 64 packages with 67 grams of crystal and five packages with two grams of cocaine, as well as three backpacks, one of them marked with the initials CJNG.
The criminal complex in Mazamitla was destroyed to prevent its reuse and the seized objects were delivered to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Regional Control of the Attorney General’s Office, where the investigation file is being compiled against those responsible for violating the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.
This area remains under strong military surveillance after various clashes were reported in the border area of the states of Jalisco and Michoacán carried out by members of antagonistic criminal organizations.
