From 23 to almost 28 pesos a liter of gasoline is sold in Guadalajara this Wednesday, February 12, and according to gas station owners, the price is practically regulated in the state, below 24 pesos, and it is the foreign franchises that abuse the most.

According to Carlos Alejandro Elizondo Sandoval, president of Gasolineros Unidos de México, the announcement made by the president, Claudia Sheinbaum, to keep the price of a liter of regular gasoline below 24 pesos is positive, but it has not been taken into account that gas station owners have faced some other increases, such as the minimum wage and taxes.

He said that for now there is no rapprochement with the federal government, regarding the announcement this Wednesday there are doubts, because their sector “is very complex” and there are service stations with high sales that can sustain the increases, while others even closed due to low sales and the impact on the increase in operations.

Regarding the abuses in the price of fuel in some gas stations, which motivated this announcement by Sheinbaum Pardo, she said that it occurs mainly in the State of Mexico, Mexico City and Nuevo Leon, where regular gasoline exceeds 27 pesos per liter.

“The price of the highest gasoline corresponds to foreign franchises or white flag franchises and that has a cost that at the time was told to the gas station owners that they were moving to other brands.”

Meanwhile, in the capital of Jalisco, a service station offers the best price for motorists at 22.77 pesos per liter and is located on Lázaro Cárdenas Avenue, at the exit to Altos de Jalisco and is the cheapest in the city, while another, located on Esteban Alatorre Street, near the headquarters of La Luz del Mundo is the most expensive in Guadalajara, selling Premium at 27.59 pesos per liter.
