“I am not going to cancel any public event, my agenda will continue as normal,” said Villegas Villarreal in a press conference in the capital of Durango, where he explained that the publications circulating on social networks are false and come from a blog based in the United States, which offers a reward of 10 million pesos for information.
“It is a group that wants to destabilize us, the pages that replicate what is published in that blog are the same ones that constantly attack the Government,” said the president.
He also mentioned that this weekend they left a pizza with an intimidating message in front of the State Congress, an action that is already being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office, since it was also spread on social networks.
Most of the pages that share this false information come from Puebla. “We realize that it is a political issue and that it is reckless; these are election times, and there are people who are professional agitators, but we are not going to fall into their game or stop in our work for the security, education and health of all Durango residents,” he emphasized.
During his press conference, the governor explained that the agitators seek to create fear as a tool used by those who lack proposals, that in Durango we all know who is who and “that they do not come to us with stories,” because while some make up stories, in Durango progress continues.
Villegas Villarreal stressed that Durango remains one of the safest states in the country, which bothers his political adversaries. He reiterated that he has not received any threats, neither he nor any member of his team.
The State Government invited citizens to inform themselves through serious and prestigious media, and not to believe in false news spread by blogs without credibility, headed by political agitators.
