On Monday afternoon, authorities responded to reports of gunshots at the Grand Oasis hotel in Cancun’s hotel zone. Witnesses described an attempted execution targeting a street vendor, who fortunately managed to escape.
Tourists and locals on the beach in front of the hotel, located at kilometer 16, reported hearing at least 10 shots fired. The incident was promptly reported via emergency number 911.
Authorities from all three levels of government quickly arrived at the scene. Hotel employees indicated that the target of the attempted execution appeared to be a street vendor.
Following the gunfire, the intended victim fled the scene, and the attackers also managed to escape.
