The area of the state of Puebla that borders Veracruz, as well as the central area of the state of Puebla, are the places where there is a higher incidence of assaults on transporters due to the presence of criminal groups.

This was acknowledged by Gabriel Femat, member of the Mexican Alliance of Transporters Organization (AMOTAC), who pointed out that the insecurity on the roads of Puebla is aggravated by the absence of police operations, since it is even known that people have been victims of the very elements in charge of providing security.

What are the most dangerous roads in Puebla?

In the territory of Puebla, transporters have registered four roads as those with the highest incidence of crime, being the following: the area of Esperanza, Maltrata, Ciudad Serdán and the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca super highway, at the height of the town of Cuesta Blanca.

This is where false checkpoints have been detected, as well as stranded vehicles that catch up with cargo trucks and block their way to rob them of their merchandise and sometimes even the vehicle itself.

Due to the absence of authority on these communication routes, cases have been recorded where criminals use their firearms to intimidate the driver and force him to stop.

Shots, omission and even extortion by the police themselves, denounce transporters from Puebla

On the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca super highway to Puebla, the way to attack is by shooting at the unit, because they know that vehicle drivers cannot flee.

Gabriel Femat stated that there are no surveillance routes with elements of the National Guard and State Police. In addition, they have observed that official vehicles are stopped at certain points on the roads and do not notice when assaults and robberies occur.

In the case of the patrol assigned to monitor the toll booth in San José Miahuatlán, there are reports of cases of extortion committed by the public security elements themselves, who have been reported to the authorities with audio and video evidence without any sanction for the uniformed officers, which is why there is no confidence that this surveillance will stop crime.
