The Querétaro State Mobility Agency (AMEQ) announced the launch of a new Qrobús route that will connect Alameda Hidalgo with the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ).
This initiative, scheduled to begin operations next Friday, February 28, 2025, aims to improve connectivity between the city and the air terminal, facilitating user access to the airport and promoting the use of public transportation in the region.
In this regard, the director of AMEQ, Gerardo Cuanalo Santos, said that so far there is no estimate of users who will use the public transportation service, but it is an area that has grown in the industrial and student part. These are new units that will have space for suitcases and that users can travel comfortably.
The route will have four strategic stops, the Comercial Mexicana on Cimatario Avenue, in addition to the towns of Miranda and La Piedad in the municipality of El Marqués, ending at the Querétaro International Airport.
The service will operate from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with an estimated frequency of one hour per unit. Each route will have two units, guaranteeing adequate coverage for users. Fares will be 37 pesos for general users and 30 pesos for preferred users.
The units that will cover this route are new and are equipped to offer comfort to passengers, including space for luggage. “There is no major problem; the units are new, low-end, and will guarantee a safe and fast trip,” said Gerardo Cuanalo Santos, director of AMEQ.
This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to improve public transportation infrastructure in Querétaro, seeking to meet the needs of a constantly growing population and promote more efficient and accessible mobility.
In addition, AMEQ has been working on integrating different modes of transport to offer more convenient options to users. Recently, tests have been carried out on the AeroQrobús route, which seeks to connect the AIQ with the Metropolitan Zone, improving accessibility and reducing travel times for passengers.
