The K’uínchekua, the Michoacán festival, will be held in Tzintzuntzan from March 13 to 16 to amaze travelers with the cultural and artistic wealth of the state.
During the presentation, Christian Leslie García Romero, head of the Innovation, Sustainability and Tourism Professionalization Unit of the federal agency, representing Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, highlighted that this celebration will once again give this 2025 the opportunity for national and international tourism to enjoy the heritage of the entity.
García Romero pointed out that Mexico has established itself as one of the main tourist powers in the world. “In 2023 we are ranked as the sixth most visited country, and in 2024 we received 15.5 percent more visitors than the previous year, reaching more than 86 million tourists.”
Roberto Monroy García, head of the Michoacán Tourism Secretariat, indicated that this meeting brings together the most beautiful manifestations of music, song, dance and religious ceremonies of Michoacán that connect with the pride of living in “the soul of Mexico.”
“For this event, we have been visited by tourists from Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Aguascalientes, Guerrero, Jalisco, Nuevo León, among other states, as well as from the United States, Canada, Spain, Colombia, Argentina and Chile,” emphasized Monroy García.
Tamara Sosa Alanís, Secretary of Culture of Michoacán, highlighted that this year the artistic programming of the K’uínchekua highlights the essential role of indigenous women, not only as transmitters of traditions within their families, but as key agents in the preservation and transmission of Michoacán culture.
