Chihuahua is a national leader in the production of various agricultural products, ranking first in crops such as green alfalfa, seed cotton, forage oats, onions, apples, green chiles and walnuts, reported the Chihuahua Agroindustrial Cluster of Canacintra.
It was specified that the state has 498 companies dedicated to the agroindustrial sector, which represents 10.9% of the total GDP of the state of Chihuahua.
In addition, it was detailed that the agroindustrial sector of Chihuahua has shown notable growth, with an average annual increase of 14 percent in exports during the last decade.
“These data underline the relevance of the agroindustrial sector in Chihuahua and the need for initiatives such as the Export School to strengthen the export capacities of local companies,” said engineer Wilfrido Du Solier, an expert in topics such as export diagnosis, international marketing, health regulations, and international markets in regions such as Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
The above, during the development of the “Export School”, an initiative of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry, (Canacintra) Chihuahua.
It was reported that this is a hybrid program that aims to train companies in the agro-industrial sector and offer subsidies to strengthen their export capabilities, all supported by the Secretariat of Rural Development of the Government of the State of Chihuahua.
This program highlights the importance of training and cooperation between the public and private sectors to open new doors to international trade and position Chihuahua as a key player in agro-industrial exports.
During the ceremony, Patricia Gloria Jurado Alonso, Director of Agribusiness of the Secretariat of Rural Development, was present, who reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the growth of the agri-food industry in Chihuahua.
