Christian Alejandro “N”, a man nicknamed El Cholo and identified as the alleged head of hitmen for the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, was captured in Guanajuato. He is identified as the main generator of violence in the municipality of Dolores Hidalgo.

The capture of said man was reported on February 23, although reports indicate that the arrest was carried out a day earlier by elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Defense) and the National Guard.

The first reports indicate that weapons, magazines and cartridges were seized from El Cholo. Information shared by N+ Foro indicates that the recently captured subject would be linked to the obtaining and sale of fuel of illicit origin (activity such as huachicol), as well as drug trafficking, extortion and kidnapping.

Images shared on social networks show that the captured person has tattoos on his arms. In addition, some photographs captured a black van, at least one long weapon and bags with substances, including one with the letters C.S.R.D.L., apparently alluding to the criminal group.

After the capture, El Cholo was taken to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO) in Mexico City.

The criminal group previously led by José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, El Marro, operates mainly in Guanajuato, a state in which various individuals who are believed to be related to the criminal structure have been captured.

Just last February 14, Candelaria “N” was arrested in the municipality of Villagrán, a woman identified as an operator of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel and who would also be the intellectual author of the murder of Gisela Gaytán Gutiérrez, Morena candidate for the municipal presidency of Celaya.

While at the beginning of February, the arrest of five people was reported who, in addition to being accused of being part of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, were described as being close to El Marro’s son. Among those arrested was a 20-year-old woman, Esmeralda “N”, who would be the partner of the son of the former criminal leader.

Another case is the capture of Leonel “N”, a man nicknamed El Gordo Zempoala, identified as the leader of the criminal group and who, according to the authorities, is a priority target. However, days after his arrest, the man was released.

“The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Guanajuato announces that it will appeal the release,” shared the state’s FGE after the change in precautionary measure was announced.
