Parks should also be educational spaces

With this vision, officials from the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the Secretariat of Infrastructure of Chiapas and the Secretariat of Tourism made a tour of the Joyyo Mayu and Oriente parks in the capital of Chiapas.

He explained that these institutions will work together to transform recreational parks into environmental education centers. He stressed the importance of having adequate infrastructure for this purpose.

He added that: “Natural spaces must go beyond entertainment; they can be key allies in environmental education. From CONAFOR, we are committed to making these sites places of learning and conservation.”

For his part, Anakaren Gómez Zuart, head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, stressed in his official account the importance of developing urban projects with a sustainable approach, as instructed by Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar.

He said: “In this new ERA, we are betting on infrastructure that respects the environment and offers quality public spaces for everyone.”

Aquiles Espinosa García, head of the SEMARNAT Representation Office in Chiapas, Segundo Guillén Gordillo, executive general coordinator of the State Tourism Secretariat, and Jorge Humberto Trujillo, from the Municipal Tourism Bureau, also attended the tour, and they all agreed on the need to promote initiatives that strengthen sustainability and coexistence in these spaces.

They specified that: it is necessary to improve, preserve and guarantee the maintenance of the parks so that they are references in the balance between urbanism and nature.
