In the framework of the commemorations for International Women’s Day (8M), the 5K MujerRun race will have its first edition in Durango, which is directed exclusively for the female branch next Sunday, March 9, which will have a start and finish at the Teatro Victoria in the state capital.
On March 9, the first edition of the 5K MujerRun race will be held in Durango, an event designed to commemorate International Women’s Day. The initiative seeks to promote physical activity and the integral well-being of the participants.
The organization is in charge of Andrea Nevárez and her team from the FITME WELLNESS CENTER gym, who have worked to make this race a meaningful experience for the runners. The start and finish point will be located at the Teatro Victoria, on Bruno Martínez Street.
The route will extend north to Avenida 20 de Noviembre, advancing east to Avenida Tecnológico. From there, the runners will return along the same route to the finish line. The total distance will be five kilometers and there will be hydration points strategically located along the route to ensure the comfort and safety of the participants.
Initially, the participation of 300 runners was contemplated, but due to high demand, the quota was expanded to 500 women. More than a competitive event, the 5K MujerRun seeks to be a space for coexistence, well-being and promotion of physical and emotional health within the female community of Durango. The event is expected to bring together women of different ages and levels of physical condition, encouraging inclusion and active participation in sports.
Registration for the 5K MujerRun is open so that those interested in participating can secure their place
Registration remains open and can be made at three points of sale: FITME WELLNESS CENTER, Los Olivos and Pastelería Monchys Libertad. The registration fee is 250 pesos, which will cover the event’s expenses. Any surplus will be donated to a cause benefiting women. Those interested are advised to register in advance, as available spaces may be sold out before the registration deadline.

Each participant will receive a kit that includes a dri-fit shirt, a buff, a race number, a medal and a thermos. The kits will be delivered on March 8 at the FITME WELLNESS CENTER, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Runners are advised to arrive early to avoid crowds and facilitate the delivery process.
This event is a race with a cause where preventive health will also be promoted
Andrea Nevárez highlighted that the MujerRun race not only aims to promote physical health, but also emotional well-being and sisterhood among participants. As part of the event, a raffle will be held with prizes focused on preventive health, thus reinforcing the commitment to the comprehensive well-being of women. In addition, there will be the presence of specialists in well-being and health, who will provide information and guidance on topics of interest to attendees.
Those interested in participating can find out more on MujerRun’s social media, where updates, additional details and any relevant changes to the race will be posted. They will also be able to find testimonials from runners, tips for physical preparation and motivation to join this initiative that seeks to empower women through sport.
