Neighbors of Hidalgo had called for a march from Tepeji del Río, Hidalgo, to Mexico City (CDMX) on the Mexico-Querétaro highway, starting at 7:00 a.m. this Friday, February 28, 2025.

The organizers of the march had the objective of marching on one of the main arteries of Edomex, so it was estimated that traffic would become complicated from the early hours of the morning.

The news of the blockade had already caused alarm among the population that moves around that area, since groups were already calling to leave early or to avoid the road.

Why would the march be held by residents of Hidalgo?

The reason for the protest this Friday, February 28, was due to the alleged arbitrary arrests.

Residents of Tepeji del Río demand a stop to the fabrication of crimes, such as the recent arrest of a couple for their alleged possession of weapons and membership in criminal groups.
