Traffic closures for several hours, long lines of vehicles and a burned unit were the results of the rollover of a Low Boy tractor-trailer registered early Saturday morning.

Reports indicate that the events occurred early Saturday morning on the Córdoba – Orizaba highway, near the Buenavista community in the municipality of Ixtaczoquitlán.

The heavy unit overturned and ended up catching fire until it was consumed, so authorities were forced to close traffic in the lane that goes to Orizaba for more than an hour, which also generated vehicle loads in said lane.

Paramedics from Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) arrived at the scene, as well as elements of the National Guard, Roads Division, who took note of the events and cordoned off the area.

Two multiple crashes are reported on the Puebla-Veracruz highway
According to official reports, one of the accidents occurred at kilometer 287 in the direction of Orizaba and involved two tractor-trailers
Despite the spectacular nature of the accident, only material damage was reported since the unit was reduced to ashes after being completely consumed by the flames.

So far, long lines of units are reported in the uphill lane. It is expected that in the next few hours, traffic will be 100 percent cleared, once the removal work on the unit is completed.

The events were recorded early Saturday morning, in the lane that goes to Orizaba from the city of Córdoba.

Some vehicles are leaving the Eugenio Garza Sada road to go down the Córdoba-Fortín boulevard and take the federal highway, through Ixtaczoquitlan and from there to the Escamela area.
