Tamaulipas is stable, after the sending of 29 criminals to the United States, said the Secretary General of Government, Héctor Joel Villegas González.
“It has been a few days since this event that was registered at the federal level, and in the state of Tamaulipas we continue in the same conditions,” adding that the security issue is monitored every day with the federal and state authorities.
“We have the meeting of the Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace of the state of Tamaulipas, where we see all the numbers that are given every 24 hours and we can tell you that up to this moment, we remain the same,” he commented.
On February 27, the extradition to the United States of 29 criminals was confirmed, nine of them identified as leaders of criminal groups that operated in the state.
That day, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, Martin Cuellar, warned citizens to increase security measures when visiting Nuevo Laredo and other parts of Tamaulipas, after acts of violence could occur.
Regarding this, the person in charge of internal policy in Tamaulipas said that any situation that occurs in the state is monitored daily, in addition to working in coordination with federal security authorities.
“We are working, now also along the entire northern border, not just Tamaulipas, with the program that is being carried out at the federal level, almost 800 officers arrived from Matamoros to Nuevo Laredo.”
