Air route will connect AIFA with Tepic-Riviera Nayarit three times a week

The Government of the State of Nayarit announced the launch of a new direct flight operated by VIVA, which will connect the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) with the Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport. This route will begin operating on May 1, 2025 with three weekly frequencies: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The announcement was made at the State Tourism Secretariat, where Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero highlighted the importance of this air connection to strengthen tourism and the local economy. Accompanied by Mr. José Miguel Bejos, President of the Board of Mota-Engil México, and Mr. Alejandro Muñoz de Cote, Commercial Director of Aeropuertos Mexicanos, the governor stressed that the new route reflects the confidence in Nayarit as a key destination in the Mexican Pacific.

Mr. Walfred Castro, Director of Communications for VIVA, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm for its arrival in Nayarit, reiterating its commitment to connectivity and tourism in the country. The route will offer affordable fares from $199 plus TUA and will allow passengers to connect with other destinations such as Mérida, Monterrey, Tijuana and Cancún through AIFA.

The Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, highlighted that this new connection will boost the growth of the sector, attracting more visitors and generating new opportunities for the region. In addition, it is part of a comprehensive strategy that includes the modernization of the airport, the expansion of the Tepic-Compostela highway and the development of tourist infrastructure.

With a projected capacity for four million passengers, the Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport is consolidated as a gateway to national and international tourism. The launch of this air route reinforces the state’s commitment to connectivity and sustainable development, promoting Nayarit as a destination of excellence.
