On Tuesday night, in the municipality of Tecoanapa, located in the Costa Chica region of Guerrero, Martín Ruelas Esparza, a retired teacher, former community counselor and former police officer of the Union of Peoples and Organizations of the State of Guerrero (UPOEG), was murdered.
The crime occurred around 8:30 p.m., in the San Juan neighborhood, on the Tierra Colorada-Cruz Grande Interstate Highway, when two men arrived on a motorcycle to his home and shot him multiple times.
The body of the retired teacher, 72 years old, was left outside his private home. His relatives decided to remove the body and move it inside his house, without allowing it to be transferred by the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).
According to some media outlets, Martín Ruelas, in addition to his participation in the UPOEG, was a communicator and managed a Facebook portal under the name En vivo Tecoanapa, where he was in charge of covering news related to the red note in Ayutla de los Libres.
It is important to note that the retired teacher was a resident of the municipality of Tecoanapa, whose government is currently headed by Juvenal Poblete, a former PRI member who assumed office as part of the Morena-PT-Verde coalition.
