In two operations by military, naval and police forces in Veracruz, nine kidnapping victims were located, two of whom had been murdered.
The two deceased were allegedly Angélica and Esthefanía, mother and daughter kidnapped 22 days ago in the port of Alvarado.
Members of the Mexican Army, the Navy, the State Public Security Secretariat and the State Attorney General’s Office carried out a strong mobilization in the municipalities of Veracruz and Alvarado.
In a first action, seven kidnapping victims were freed who were in a safe house located on Delfino Valenzuela Street in the Reforma subdivision of the municipality of Veracruz.
The State Attorney General’s Office officially reported that the rescued people received medical and psychological attention for their recovery.
In a second operation and as part of the investigations into the disappearance of Angélica and Esthefanía, a search warrant was carried out to inspect a property in the municipality of Alvarado.
During the intervention, two lifeless bodies were located, which are presumed to be the mother and daughter, although the legal proceedings are still being carried out by the multidisciplinary forensic team to validate their identity.
As a result, one person was also arrested, allegedly related to the aggravated kidnapping of the victims.
