The Secretary of Tourism, Mauricio Arceo Piña, announced that a new film will be shot in Campeche and Ciudad del Carmen over a period of one and a half months. This production will be released both in theaters and on a popular digital streaming platform.

In response to a call for hiring local extras on the state agency’s social media and other websites, Arceo Piña confirmed that the film will feature scenes from both the capital city and natural landscapes in the municipality of Carmen.

Details about the film will be shared soon, but Arceo Piña assured that it is a significant production with plans for widespread distribution. The State Government provided various location options, particularly in Carmen, which impressed the filmmakers with its natural beauty.

The Ministry of Tourism is actively supporting the production by spreading the word for extras who are available and interested in participating. Citizens are encouraged to get involved as the filming process is expected to last a month and a half, providing income for those hired.

The production requires extras who are middle-aged or older, and Arceo Piña urged locals to take advantage of this opportunity. He believes that this project could position Campeche as a central hub for film and television productions. After the carnival, they will finalize the expenses and logistics for the filming.

Recent notable films shot in Campeche include “Papás por Encargo” by Disney+ featuring Pati Cantú (2023), “Bravas FC” with Mauricio Ochmann (2021), “Lo que la vida me roba” with Angelique Boyer at Hacienda Uayamón, “Che” with Benicio del Toro and Demián Bichir (2008), and “Pecado Original” with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas (2008).
