A shootout occurred in the Nuevo Amanecer neighborhood in Zihuatanejo, causing panic among passersby who ran for shelter in businesses and with neighbors.
The loud shots fired by high-caliber firearms mobilized marines, military personnel, National Guard troops, and police officers in the area between the neighborhood’s market and downtown.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. this Tuesday; so far, authorities have not reported any casualties or arrests.
