The city of Mérida is getting ready to host one of the most anticipated events of the year, Asian Fest 2025. Organized by Alberto Lavalle, this celebration promises to bring together enthusiasts of Eastern culture in a unique and exciting experience.
Asian Fest will take place on March 15-16 at La Plancha Park, located in downtown Mérida. The festival will extend beyond the park’s plaza, with special activities organized by the park’s managers. Foodies can indulge in a diverse array of culinary options, including ramen, onigiri, sando, sake, and beer, as well as fusion dishes like birriamen.
The event will feature 15 food exhibitors and 8 exhibitors selling anime-themed products, ensuring an authentic and high-quality Asian experience. Martial arts demonstrations and K-pop competitions will add to the excitement of the festival. The highlight of the weekend will be a martial arts demonstration on Saturday at 8:00 PM, followed by a K-pop competition on Sunday at the same time.
According to Lavalle, the event aims to attract between 12,000 and 13,000 attendees, surpassing the numbers of last year’s Queso de Bola Festival. The organizers hope that this event will become an annual tradition in Mérida, promoting cultural exchange and understanding between Mexico and Asia.
