Campeche Prioritizes Road Reconstruction to Boost Connectivity and Economic Growth

The government of Campeche is intensifying efforts to rebuild roads in poor condition, with a strong emphasis on improving infrastructure, enhancing security, and fostering economic development. Governor Layda Sansores San Román outlined these priorities during her “Tuesday of the Jaguar” program, underscoring the state’s progress in becoming an attractive destination for investment.

A key focus of these efforts is the reconstruction of federal highways and state roads, which play a vital role in connecting communities and facilitating the transport of agricultural products. This initiative aligns with broader objectives to maintain social peace and stimulate regional economic activity.

One of the latest achievements in this program was the inauguration of the rehabilitated harvest roads, or “sacacosechas,” in the community of Uayamón. The project, completed with an investment of 3 million pesos, directly benefits over 100 residents by enabling the efficient transport of 595 tons of produce from 170 hectares of farmland. Governor Sansores celebrated the milestone, stating, “This is an example of how teamwork between the people and the government achieves tangible results.”

The “sacacosechas” initiative is part of a larger strategy to bolster rural infrastructure and support the agricultural sector. By improving these critical roads, local producers can bring their crops to market more quickly and safely, strengthening the regional economy.

In addition to infrastructure projects, the Campeche government recently announced a new retroactive monthly payment aimed at benefiting various sectors of the population, further demonstrating its commitment to supporting the community.
