In presenting the program of activities and events that will strengthen faith and promote the spiritual and cultural richness of the municipality, as part of the Jubilee Year celebrations, the Secretary of Tourism of the Municipality of Querétaro, Mariana Ortiz Cabrera, emphasized the value of religious tourism as a tool to connect the history, tradition, and devotion of thousands of faithful who visit Querétaro each year.
Participating in the press conference to publicize the activities of the Jubilee Year, which the Church commemorates every 25 years, Mariana Ortiz Cabrera emphasized that this celebration represents a great opportunity to strengthen faith and attract visitors seeking meaningful spiritual experiences.
The event included the participation of spokesperson José Martín Lara Becerril, who has been a fervent promoter of religious tourism in Querétaro. In her message, Lara Becerril highlighted the importance of these celebrations to renew the profound love for God and foster unity among the Catholic community. She expressed her hope that these activities will be a living testimony of faith and an inspiration for all visitors.
Also present was Sergio Palma Peniche, Coordinator of the World Religious Tourism Network in Mexico, who emphasized that Querétaro is emerging as a new member of the World Religious Tourism Network, positioning the municipality as one of the main destinations for this segment in the country.
He also emphasized that the city has a solid and comprehensive strategy to share with the international market, which will attract more pilgrims and visitors interested in experiences of faith and culture.
As part of the program, the presence of first-class relics was announced. These relics will be exhibited in various churches in the municipality, allowing the Catholic faithful a unique experience of veneration and reflection. These include relics of Saint Jude Thaddeus, Saint Juan Diego, Saint Junípero Serra, and the Holy Cross of Christ and the Apostles, which will be housed in emblematic sites such as the Querétaro Cathedral, the Museum of Sacred Art, and the Conciliar Seminary.
In addition, a calendar of activities was presented, including pilgrimages, solemn masses, and cultural events in parishes and churches throughout the municipality. The Municipal Secretariat of Culture, represented by Daniela Salgado Márquez, and the State Secretariat of Culture, represented by Luis Rodrigo Real Pérez, detailed the concerts and festivals that will take place within this framework.
Religious tourism in Querétaro continues to consolidate itself as a fundamental pillar for the identity and cultural development of the municipality, strengthening the faith of its inhabitants and attracting visitors from all over the country. The Ministry of Tourism, in conjunction with the Diocese of Querétaro, invites the community to actively participate in the Jubilee Year activities and experience this devotion and spirituality.
